Today I had the rare opportunity to witness two specific buses, BCE47139 (LG71DWW) and BCE47150 (LG71DXJ), in action on TFL London Bus Route 340. These buses, part of the ADL BYD Enviro400EV City Electric model, are not commonly seen on this route, which typically uses the Wright Gemini 3 and Wright SRM B5LH Hybrid buses. They are operated by RATP DEV Transit London and are based out of Edgware Bus Garage (BT).
I must say, these electric buses seem to be a perfect fit for this route. Their performance and design complement the route's needs exceptionally well. It was a fascinating experience to see them in operation, showcasing the advancements in electric vehicle technology in the public transport sector. The TFL (Transport for London) Route 340 operates between Edgware Bus Station and Harrow Bus Station.
The route passes through Edgware Bus Station , Canons Park Station , Stanmore Broadway , Stanmore Church , Harrow Weald Bus Garage , Harrow & Wealdstone Station and Harrow Bus Station.
Note: They have been allocated to the 125 route for ADL Enviro400 City BYD buses. Edgware Bus Garage experienced a shortage of service buses today, which is why two of them were temporarily used on the 340 route but have now been taken off.
